Madrid is the capital and largest city of Spain - and is located on the river Manzanares in the centre of the country. The population of the city is about 3 million, the estimated urban area population is roughly 5 million. Probably the most famous places in the historic center of Madrid are Palacio Real with it‘s gardens, cathedral Virgen de la Almudena and Museo del Prado with great paintings.
